Differences from Connect
Both products exist to support different use cases that we’ve observed from our customers in the past.
PureSMS is built to be a simple and reliable way to send SMS messages to customers, whether single, in bulk, or by API.
divergent Connect on the other hand, is a full communication suite that supports everything above, as well as email, templating, inbound SMS and more advanced features.
The stability, performance, reliability and pricing of both platforms is identical. What differs primarily is the user interface, with PureSMS designed to be more simplistic and user-friendly, while Connect provides a more robust interface with more customisation options.
Who is PureSMS best for?
The current PureSMS was built around the needs and observed use cases of our existing customers. It’s a great fit for users that have simple requirements and want to get started as quickly as possible with a simple and easy-to-use product.
Who is divergent Connect best for?
Advanced users, such as developers integrating more than just SMS in to their products, who want a comprehensive solution either for now or in the future should look to Connect.
Don’t worry, if you sign up to PureSMS you can migrate to Connect with the click of a button.
Info for nerds lives here
Under the hood, both platforms use the same technology and as such, have the same API. When you’re using PureSMS you would actually be calling the Connect API directly, which is why you may see a lot of documentation and examples that use the Connect API.
We have “locked down” (it’s really not as harsh as that sounds) the API for PureSMS so things that aren’t able to be used with PureSMS won’t work. That’s mainly because there’s no customisation options or reporting tools available there, whereas they are available on Connect.
If you have customers that need more advanced options, you can ask them to migrate to Connect which is not only free, but takes a few seconds.

* We have relationships with several large, international networks. Sometimes, a direct route isn’t possible. In this case we continue to use our network partners to guarantee the best possible routing.Any questions?
