Migrating from PureSMS by Cedita

This may not apply to you

If you’ve just found us for the first time, you don’t need to be here.

We’ve been in the SMS game for nearly 10 years, so this guide is exclusively for our existing customers to help the transition to the new platform.

PureSMS by Cedita has been around since 2016, whereas the new PureSMS is its successor built on top of our much more powerful platform, divergent Connect. This means that by migrating you instantly unlock better performance, reliability, and pricing.

We truly thank each and every one of our customers for choosing us, and we hope that you’ll love the new PureSMS even more than the old one.

Note

You may have received emails from us previously advising that you’d be moved over to divergent Connect. Whilst this is technically true, the new PureSMS is built around the most typical usage scenarios and designed to be simple and user-friendly, just the way you’d expect it to be.

divergent Connect is a more advanced platform, and if you’re in need of the extra functionality that it provides you can move over in seconds.

Platform Changes

PureSMS is an entirely new platform built from the ground up atop our leading communications product - divergent Connect, but we’ve focused on giving you more rather than taking away.

What’s the same

First let’s look at what hasn’t changed:

• User friendly interface enabling you to work faster.
• Only Tier 1, Direct Routes where available*.
• Better pricing than 90% of competing SMS providers.
• High performance APIs available.

* We have relationships with several large, international networks. Sometimes, a direct route isn’t possible. In this case we continue to use our network partners to guarantee the best possible routing.

What’s New

Better Pricing

We’re the only provider in the industry that offers flat rates for each country.

All UK SMS is now just 2.75p.

Better International

No need to contact us any more to send international SMS.

Your Sender drives the countries you can send to.

Better Imports

Get full validation and cost analysis up front. Schedule easier with a single start date for each message without entering on each row.

Better Reporting

You can now view every single message in an import, along with its delivery status, live from the networks (where available).

One key difference is that you need to register Sender names with us before you can use them to send messages. You can read more in our Senders documentation.

Steps to migrate

1. All Users Let us know you’re ready, or wait for us to get in touch.

   If you want to move over right away, just contact us and we’ll plan your migration.

2. Us We’ll migrate your senders & credit balance.

   It may take us up to 24 hours to fully migrate you over.

3. All Users Add your card details.

   The new PureSMS is a hybrid when it comes to billing, so there’s no more forgetting to top up.

   You can still top up your account and maintain a credit balance, but you’ll automatically be charged when that balance runs out for what you send.

4. API Users Migrate your API usage.

   We’re making the transition as simple as possible, and the old API will proxy through requests to the new API for the duration of 2025.

   We have new Developer Documentation to read up on.

   Don’t delay your migration!

   The old API is not something you should rely on for a long time. Where possible, migrate to the new (divergent Connect) API as soon as possible.

   By not doing so, you are losing out on performance and any new functionality that we add in the future.

Accessing more features

PureSMS is intentionally limited in that it specifically provides a simple and reliable way to send SMS messages to customers. There are times when that’s not enough, and if you’re looking for more than what you currently get with PureSMS, we’ve got that too - you’ll just need to move to divergent Connect.

Note

Customers that use inbound SMS messaging will be migrated straight to divergent Connect, as this feature is not available on the new PureSMS.

When we first announced that PureSMS was changing you may have been excited about certain functionality such as Client Tagging, Email Sending etc. These features are available on divergent Connect.

Once you’re migrated to PureSMS - you can upgrade your workspace to divergent Connect in just a few steps. Please note that once migrated, you will no longer be able to access the PureSMS interface.

1. Sign in to PureSMS and choose the Workspace that you want to migrate.
2. Click “Settings” from the top navigation and click “Upgrade to Connect” down the left.
3. Review the terms and accept to perform your migration.

Tip

Migration to divergent Connect is instant, and you’ll be redirected to sign in to the Connect platform straight away.
